Anchor Baby Sessions – Quotes from German Magazine Wasser Prawda

Featured in the November/December Issue of Wasser Prawda, an online Music and culture magazine. http://wasser-prawda.de/ The last issue also features photographs and a review of Katie’s appearance with Tom Attah at Volksdorfer International Blues Festival 2014. Words by Nathan Norgel.

On Blues artist Katie Bradley:

“Whether acoustic or electric In the UK, Singer and Harp player Katie Bradley is now one of the artists that you should keep in mind.”

On ‘Anchor Baby Sessions’

It is precisely the original pieces of Bradley and Ross, that I find exciting. This is lyrical and melancholic blues so right for the foggy November weather outside the window (“One Day”), rhythmic blues with fine slide guitar (“Long Way from Home”) or funky blues with organ (“Some Kind of Woman”) in which the singer is always very center and only uses her harp used to set the necessary accents

An entertaining blues album from the British Isles! (Available through http://www.katiebradleyblues.com)

Katie’s stage presence, talent and luminosity wins her new followers wherever she plays. Katie extends her musicality, rhythm and love for rich melody in the Blues by playing Blues harp. 2014 has been an amazing year for Katie Bradley who is an artist gaining momentum in the world Blues spectrum. Katie’s love for many different styles of Blues reveals her to be a very exciting artist who can cover and write in a myriad of different Blues disciplines. Katie’s range can haunt you deep down into the spirit of the Delta Blues or raise your spirits when she leads a full band of many musicians.

Here is what The Blues Magazine have said about our brand new track:

blues mag cd

“The self released She’s Ready established singer and harmonicist Katie Bradley’s Gospel Blues sound. Cut live with Paul Jobson, Joe Sam, Sam Kelly and guitarist Dudley Ross.

It marked her out as special on originals like ‘I hear the river’ a number 7 hit on the i-tunes Blues Chart. ‘Long way from Home’ another self-penned number is equally deft with touchstones including Little Walter, James Cotton, Etta James and Luther Allison, who she duetted with”
