Katie Bradley (Folkestone, Kent) has now been shortlisted for the British Blues Awards 2013: Kevin Thorpe Memorial Award for Best Original Song for her song ‘I hear the river’ – written by Katie Bradley and arranged by Guitarist and composer Dudley Ross. The song is from katie’s self-released debut Blues album ‘She’s ready’ released in October 2012 and was nominated for a Blues award by DJ Kevin Beale of ‘Blues On The Marsh’ Radio Show who was immediately sure of the songs appeal and resonance. The song ‘I hear the river’ showcases Katie’s strong melodic vocals and “haunting” Blues harp.The band are not mere background to Katie’s voice but a quartet of top-drawer musicians: Paul Jobson, Keys & Vocals (Chaka Khan) Sam Kelly, Drums, (Station House) Joe Sam, Bass (Cut the funk) and virtuoso guitarist Dudley Ross (Cut the funk).

Katie Bradley is already being hailed as one of the rising stars of the British Blues scene. In the last month Katie has had a number of prestigious International Music Magazine Reviews which have picked out ‘I hear the river’ as stand out track. This song was also complimented notably by Mud Morganfield, the eldest son of Blues Legend Muddy Waters. Features in ‘Blues in Britain’, ‘Blues Matters’ and the international ‘Classic Rock Blues Magazine’ which interviewed Katie as a ‘Blues Breaker of 2013’. The Nomination has started to provoke a lot of interest from Festivals, venues and promoters in the UK and Europe.
